Authority of Ireland (FSAI), in collaboration with the environmental health service (EHS), to aid environmental health officers (EHOs) carry out official control inspections in food supplement establishments. As law enforcement officers, EHOs inspect against legal requirements. The legislation is mute on how food supplement manufacturers produce quality products that consistently match the label on those products. To establish the safety and consistency of food supplements produced, good manufacturing practices (GMP) or other quality management systems provide food business operators with a useful tool to ensure the safety of the products being produced.en_GB
