This campaign has included short and long-term programmes for the provision of new bed accommodation, the deveIopment of B.C.G. vaccination, the organisation of major chest surgery facilities, the establishment of a mass-radiography. service and the provision of allowances for patients. These have been supplementary to the elaboration and extension of the facilities for diagnosis and treatment and epidemiological control already provided by local and voluntary authorities. As the result of such developments, it was considered necessary to undertake a comprehensive survey of'the tuberculosis problem in Ireland, with a view to the further extension of suitable preventive services and the adaptation of existing treatment facilities to the circumstances of the problem as if now exists in the country.enTUBERCULOSISIMMUNISATIONEPIDEMIOLOGYSURVEYBCG VACCINATIONReport
