Is it something that affects only women or are men affected as well? Who is most at risk? What impact does it have? These are some of the questions addressed in the present study. The project was commissioned by the National Crime Council and is based on a survey conducted by the Economic and Social Research Institute of a nationally representative statistical sample of over 3,000 adult women and men. In addition, a series of in-depth focus group interviews were conducted with marginalised women (Travellers and immigrant women) to draw out the issues of concern to them. The goal of the project was to provide up-to-date information on the nature, extent and impact of domestic abuse against women and men in intimate partner relationships in Ireland today.enDOMESTIC VIOLENCEWOMEN'S HEALTHMENDomestic abuse of women and men in Ireland: report on the national study of domestic abuseReport
