Title: Effective Interventions to Improve Nurses’ Job Satisfaction in Mental Healthcare Settings: A Systematic Review Protocol Background: Mental health nurses play a critical role in providing care for patients with mental illness, but they often face significant workplace challenges such as violence, heavy workloads, and emotional stress, leading to low job satisfaction and high turnover rates. Job satisfaction is essential not only for nurses' well-being but also for patient outcomes, as satisfied nurses are more likely to engage in high-quality patient care. This systematic review aims to identify and evaluate effective interventions designed to improve job satisfaction among mental health nurses, contributing to better retention and the creation of a supportive work environment. Objectives: The primary objective is to synthesize evidence on effective interventions to improve job satisfaction among mental health nurses. Specifically, the review will: Explore interventions aimed at enhancing job satisfaction. Assess the effectiveness of these interventions. Provide evidence-based recommendations for improving job satisfaction in mental health settings. Methodology: A systematic search will be conducted across multiple databases including MEDLINE, EMBASE, Scopus, CINAHL, and others, using a combination of MeSH terms and free-text keywords related to job satisfaction, nursing, mental health settings, and interventions. Studies published in English between January 2012 and December 2022, focusing on qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method designs, will be included. Conference proceedings, abstracts, and peer-reviewed empirical studies will also be considered. Exclusion criteria include editorial pieces, opinion articles, and non-empirical research. Data Extraction and Synthesis: Data from included studies will be independently extracted by two reviewers using customized forms. Quantitative data will be synthesized using statistical methods, while thematic synthesis will be employed for qualitative data. A PRISMA flow diagram will illustrate the selection process, and the quality of studies will be assessed using the Cochrane Handbook’s Risk of Bias tool and the Joanna Briggs Institute's Critical Appraisal Checklist for qualitative studies. Implications: The findings of this review will guide senior nurse managers and policymakers in developing strategic interventions to improve job satisfaction in mental health settings. By creating supportive work environments, healthcare organizations can enhance nurse retention, reduce burnout, and improve patient care.en_US
