dc.description | Presentation of Results The field work for the Survey of Children's Dental Health was completed in June, 1984 and in November of that year the preliminary results,14 covering the primary aims of the survey, were published. These showed that in the past twenty years there had been a major decline in the prevalence of dental caries in· children in Ireland and that this decline was greatest in children who had been lifetime residents of communities served with fluoridated water supplies. It was also shown that the level of enamel fluorosis, as defined by Deans Index was very low in Ireland, over 90 per cent having normal enamel, the remainder showing evidence of either questionable, very mild or mild fluorosis. Levels in fluoridated and non-fluoridated communities were similar. In this report these initial.results are expanded and information on the other conditions and topics covered in the survey is presented. | en_GB |
