dc.descriptionThe Monitoring Committee was established by the Government in 1984 and is charged with monitoring the implementation of Government Policy and the provision of state services to Travelling People. Representatives of Government Departments, Travelling people themselves and people with long experience of working with Travellers on a voluntary basis serve on the Committee, with an independent Chairman. The Committee meets on a regular monthly basis works hard and takes its role seriously in endeavouring to ensure that Travelling People get basic justice and fair treatment from all the services provided by Government for the well being of the community.en
