| dc.description | In June 1993, I was delighted to be appointed as a member of the Task Force on the Travelling Community. I also felt honoured when; in January, 1995, I replaced Deputy Liz McManus as Chairperson of the Task Force following her appointment as Minister of State at. the Department of the Environment. The two year period since the establishment of the Task Force has involved a substantial amount of work for the Task Force members, their substitutes and the Secretariat. In addition to the publication of an Interim Progress Report in January 1994, this work included the preparation of submissions to the. Minister for Equality and Law Reform on the proposed Equal Status Legislation and to the Minister for Education and the National Education Convention on education and training for Travellers. | en |
