|dc.description||First and foremost our thanks are due to all the volunteers who gave of theIr time so generously and freely and who made this report possible. We also owe a debt of gratitude to all the agencies, both statutory and voluntary, who gave financial assistance, namely the Catholic Social Services Conference, Dublin Council for the Aged, the Eastern Health Board, Friends of the Elderly, Guinness (Ireland), the National Council for the Aged and the Society of St Vincent de Paul. Dublin Corporation provided the, very valuable and essential office space and facilities. The report could not have been accomplished without the help and encouragement of many groups, individuals and agencies at local level. Where co-operation did take place the work was both easier and more effective. In addition, we express our appreciation to those individuals who gave advice and encouragement, in particular Mr Michael Browne and Ms Ursula Coleman. Univerllity College Dublin's Computer Centre and its Director, Mr David Jennings, were most generous and gave us access to computer facilities.||en|
