dc.descriptionSection 3(1) of the Child Care Act 1991 places an obligation and legal duty upon the Child and Family Agency (Tusla) 'to promote the welfare of children in its area who are not receiving adequate care and protection'. The role is carried out by child protection social workers throughout the State. This research focused on a specific element of this role; specifically the social worker's responsibility to accept and assess retrospective resports of childhood sexual abuse.en
