This is the second programme of work of the Health and Safety Authority prepared as part of our strategy for the period 2013 to 2015 and it builds on the work done in the 2013 programme. Our vision is a country where worker safety, health and welfare and the safe management of chemicals are central to successful enterprise. This programme aims to reduce the toll of lives lost and people injured in the agriculture sector and it also seeks to improve the way in which vehicles are used for work. These two areas combined account for the majority of work related deaths in Ireland and we will continue to use a combination of promotion and enforcement to help bring down the totally unacceptable level of fatalities in these areas.en_GB
