dc.description | The prevalence of obesity in children is rapidly rising. The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimated that in 2010, 43 million children aged 0-5 years were overweight or obese, reflecting a global prevalence of 6.7%. In 1990, this figure was 4.2% and according to current trends, is estimated to increase to 9.1% in 2020 [1]. Between 15-32% of European school children were overweight or obese [2], and at least 30% of English children were overweight or obese in 2010 | en_GB |
