Four of the ten Education Officers have now commenced duty. The competition for the selection of the six remaining posts took place during June 1997. Our Board has produced a video on the satellite clinic service In Kilbarrack to provide information to communities where it is proposed to commence such a service. A contract has been awarded to an advertising agency for the provision of an anti-heroin campaign in the areas most effected by heroin in the Eastern Health Board area. This campaign was launched on 30th May 1997. Following discussions which took place on 7th May 1997 involving the Boards Education Officers and voluntary organisations assisted by our Board or who provide information services regarding drug misuse, the following are the details of information and education activities planned for the remainder of 1997.en_GB
