The answers to the questions on HFA 2000 are based on an analysis of the current strategies plans and practices in the Irish Health Services. They are broadly based on t he WHO document addendum to DG0/ 8 4 1 and r elate to information collection for Regional Indicators item 22 of the Common Framework and Format (C.F.F.}. As health planning preceeded the HFA concept developed in 1979 by many years, in no way can the policies be said to have developed directly related to HFA 2000. It should be emphasised that the document represents a n interpretation of current policy by the authors rather than representing explicitly stated national policies. Nevertheless as will be seen in the answers to the questions much of the planning and practice in Ireland is consistent with HFA 2000en_GB
