The current study has been commissioned by the Children Acts Advisory Board (CMB). The overall objective of the current literature review is to produce a summary analysis of research literature on inter-agency co-operation in public services, with a particular focus on inter-agency co-operation in children's services. Specific objectives of the review are: 1. To identify completed research in relation to inter-agency co-operation in the public sector and, in particular, inter-agency co-operation in children's services; 2. To identify, summarise and analyse key findings, conclusions and recommendations in the research by key themes including definition, rationale, forms, objectives, tools and policy context of inter-agency working, as well as the benefits and obstacles of such working arrangements; 3. To identify key areas for consideration in order to enhance inter-agency co-operation, based on the findings from the literature reviewed and an understanding of the CAAB's objectives (as per CMB's Strategy 2008 to 201 0).en_GB
