dc.descriptionThe National Committee on Medical Education and Training adopted the report of its Sub- Committee on the Intern Year in July 2008 (“NCMET Report”)1. The report was subsequently noted by the Interdepartmental Policy Steering Group on Medical Education and Training. In May 2009, the Health Service Executive (“HSE”) established an Intern Implementation Group, incorporating membership from the wide range of stakeholders involved in the intern year, including the Medical Council, Medical Schools, Postgraduate Medical Training Bodies, hospital services, primary care services and the HSE’s Medical Education and Training, HR and Finance functions.en
