This framework provides an overview of selfmanagement support and offers recommendations for implementation of self-management support in Ireland, along with a plan for implementation and priorities for early implementation. The development of this framework was guided by a national advisory group and was informed by Irish and international evidence, including a Health Technology Assessment conducted by the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA). An extensive consultation was carried out which included healthcare professionals within and outside the HSE; patients and carers; representatives from the voluntary and community sector; and the department of health.
