Description:
This case study follows Mary who presented with shortness of breath to the GP surgery. It seeks to explore the assessment, classification and management of Mary’s condition. A spirometry with reversibility was carried out to determine the presence of obstruction. The result of Mary’s spirometry demonstrated that she had moderate obstruction with eight per cent reversibility, which indicates chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The interpretation of spirometry will be explored later in this article.
