Description:
The Monitoring Committee is pleased to note the improved rate of provision of accommodation generally for Travellers but considers that this rate of provision of accommodation will need at least to be sustained over a number of years to ensure that ail Travellers will have access to a reasonable standard of accommodation. However to meet the emergency situation which exists in many areas, the Committee feels that the rate of provision would need to be accelerated. The Committee also notes the introduction of Dublin County Council's new halting site plan and expresses its hope that this will further improve the provision of much needed serviced sites for the many roadside travellers in the Dublin area.
