Description:
The Second Report The present report gives a brief statistical account of Mass-Radiography from 1st September 1951 to 31st December 1957, together with a more detailed analysis of the work carried out during the year 1957. All the Health Authorities, i.e. County Borough Councils and County Councils, with the exception of Cork County Council, which has its own Mass-Radiography Unit, continued to participate in the Association's service. The Campaign Against Chest Diseases. Mass-Radiography is part of the campaign against diseases of the chest. It's main object is the finding of chest diseases in their early stages by examining the apparently healthy. Trends in epidemicity are changing; public response to Mass-Radiography is altering. It is important that observations made in the course of the work during the past year should be conveyed to Mass-Radiography users and the local Health Authorities. It was for the above reasons that the Board of Directors considered that this Report should be prepared and made available as soon as possible.
