The particulars of Vital Statistics given in this and in future annual reports of the Department of Health will be confined to informaiion of a basic character only. A detailed survey of these statistics will be published separately in the annual reports of An t-Ard Claraitheoir. The 1952 figures given in this report are provisional Marriages, Births and Deaths Marriages registered in 1952 numbered 15,769 a rate of 5-3 per 1,000 estimated population as compared with 5-4 for 1951. The 1952 rates for England and Wales, Scotland and the Six Counties were 8-0, 8-0 and 6.8, respectively,
