Description:
The introduction of water fluoridation in the early 1960s was welcomed as a major advance in the area of preventive dentistry, and it has justified itself More than twenty years later I considered it timely to commission a nationwide study of dental health in children, in order to review the benefits of water fluoridation to the teeth of our children. I am very pleased to introduce the Report of the National Survey of Children's Dental Health which was carried out in 1984 by University College Cork on my behalf I invite comment on the findings of the Report which will assist me, and the Government, in taking decisions on the future development of dental services for our children.
