Description:
I have pleasure in submitting the report of the Advisory Committee to Government on the monitoring and medical treatment of the survivors and victims of future disasters. The Committee, recognising the existing major emergency plans and the provisions made in them for the management of major disasters, both organisational and medical, concentrated on the psychological and post-traumatic stress problems associated with such disasters. However, the Committee has made some general recommendations which it considered would further improve the existing arrangements in relation to major emergency planning. Dr Niall Tierney (Chairman) Chief Medical Officer.
