116. Removal of a health authority officer from office following the holding of a sworn inquiry is a comparatively rare occurrence. A sworn inquiry, is not in fact the trial of an issue. Its main purpose is to elicit the facts so that when the inspector's report on the inquiry and the Minister of evidence are presented to the Minister he will have at the disposal of the relevant facts bearing on. the case when deciding what action he should take in the course of the conduct of such inquiries the parties concerned. and particularly any officer whose conduct is called into question, have given the fullest opportunity to be heard and to furnish evidence.
