Description:
Irish women are living longer than ever before, and over the age of 7 5 years women now outnumber men by 2:1. Health and quality of life are inextricably linked, and this relationship becomes ever more important with ageing. The most powerful tool in preserving one's health is knowledge, and this can only be acquired through information. The aim of this Directory is to provide information on diseases that become prevalent in later life - osteoporosis, coronary heart disease, cancer, depression and Alzheimer's disease. Elimination of risk factors for these common diseases and their prevention, early detection and treatment are all only possible through high quality information.
