Regular physical activity is one of the most important choices people can make, along with not smoking and a healthy diet, to enhance their health and help in preventing and managing the effects of many chronic conditions. The recommended advice to achieve health benefits is to build up to at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity most days of the week. It is estimated that about 6 out of every 10 Irish people do not take enough physical activity for health benefits.
