- The Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council is an independent statutory agency charged with responsibility for standards, education and training in the field of pre-hospital emergency care in Ireland. The Council was established as a body corporate by the Minister for Health and Children in April 2000 by Statutory Instrument Number 109 of 2000. This Order was made under the Health (Corporate Bodies) Act, 1961 as amended. The membership of the Council is defined in the Statutory Instrument as consisting of not more than seventeen persons who shall be appointed by the Minister.
