Description:
On March 1st 2000, the Northern Area Health Board (NAHB) was established under Section 14 of the Health (Eastern Regional Health Authority) Act 1999. In accordance with that Act, the Northern Area Health Board undertook to exercise, on behalf of the Authority, delegated responsibility for the provision of health and personal social services in the county of Dublin, north of the river Liffey, and in the County of Fingal. The funding for the services provided by our Board is allocated directly from the Eastern Regional Health Authority (ERHA). The Board of the Eastern Regional Health Authority adopted the Service Plan of the Region on January 15th 2001 in accordance with the Health Amendment (No.3) Act 1996. [n advance of and subsequent to the adoption of the regional Service Plan, detailed discussions took place between our Board and the ERHA to determine the amount of funding available to our Board for service provision in 200 I.
