Description:
The objective of the mental health service is to promote and improve the standard of mental health and social well being of the people of the North East. This is undertaken through a network of community based and where necessary hospital in patient services which are provided by the Board in partnership with a range of voluntary organisations in the region. The emphasis is on developing and implementing individual care plans for each person who has contact with the services which includes the person's immediate and extended family and obtains the views of the client or patient of the service. The Board places particular emphasis on ensuring that the various strands of services integrate well together in order to ensure a co·ordinared approach to patient needs and that me mental health services integrate with other health and social services.
