- Citizens Information Services, including the development and support of the nation-wide network of Citizens Information Centres (CICs), the Citizens Information Phone Service (CIPS) and the Oasis Website (www.oasis.gov.ie). The agency has a statutory commitment to assist and support people, particularly those with disabilities, in identifying and understanding their needs and options and in accessing their entitlements. One of Comhairle's statutory functions is to promote and develop the provision of information on the effectiveness of current social policy and services and to highlight issues that are of concern to users of those services. In carrying out this function, Comhairle relies heavily on feedback from CICs based on the needs and experiences of users of the CIC service.
