Description:
The Government is implementing the report of the Commission on the Status of People with Disabilities. As a very important part of this, the Government has decided to change the way it provides services for people with disabilities. From 12th June 2000 many services will be mainstreamed. This means that after a short changeover period services for people with disabilities will be delivered in the same way and by the same organisations as services for everybody else. From 12th June 2000 NRB (the National Rehabilitation Board) will cease to exist. Some of its services will be provided by existing organisations and some by new ones. You will still be able to get all the services you used to get from NRB but you may have to go to a different place to get them.
