Description:: The Employment Equality Agency was established in October, 1977. The members decided that a Code of Practice for the elimination of sex discrimination and the promotion of equal opportunity in the work-place would be of assistance to everyone concerned with the application of anti-discrimination legislation in employment. By the time the first term of office of Agency members came to· an end in October, 1982 most of the Code now published had been prepared. The Agency records its thanks to all the members who contributed advice regarding the Code's format and contents. The Agency is also most grateful for the helpful comments received in respect of the preliminary drafts.
