Description:
The National Advisory Committee on Drugs seminar, ‘Responding to Challenges of Substance Use Among Young People’, was held in the Gresham Hotel, Dublin, on 17 November 2010. There were two objectives in holding the seminar:  To bring together a variety of individuals – practitioners, representatives and decision-makers from various backgrounds and sectors – on foot of the recently published report by the National Advisory Committee on Drugs entitled: Risk and Protection Factors for Substance Use Among Young People. A Comparative Study of Early School-Leavers and School-Attending Students. To reflect and discuss the problems highlighted by the report, having particular regard to the key challenges faced in strengthening the response to young people and substance use.
