Report presenting the main findings of a qualitative research project undertaken on behalf of the Irish Hospice Foundation, in conjunction with the School of Nursing and Midwifery and the Department of Law, University College Cork (UCC), and the School of Nursing and the Department of General Practice in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). The present research is part of a larger study into the development of an Ethical Framework for End-of-Life Care and its primary purpose was to explore what Irish people think about diverse end of life issues, including what they understand as autonomy in the context of care.
