As part of the roll-out of the LANS programme I was asked to undertake a study/review of one of the alternative assessment methodologies to the Common Assessment Framework - the assessment methdology being used by LANS. This paper seeks to describe some of the characteristics of Differential Response models and their applicability to the LANS project.
