| Abstract: | It is with considerable satisfaction that the hospital
reports a small surplus of £31,000 on a non-capital
allocation of £71.422m for 1995. This position was
facilitated by improved matching of expenditure with
activity by budget holders in a number of key areas. This
approach proved to be particularly successful in the cases
of the CResT and MedEI. pilot Clinical Directorates
where both financial and activity performance surpassed
prior year and forecast outcomes. It is a primary objective
of the hospital to extend accountability throughout the
organisation in the coming years by the introduction of
further directorates accompanied by the improvements in
and skills necessary to support them. |
