| Description: | Following an announcement by the Minister for Health
in Dail Eireann on the 19th May, 1987, a major review of
acute hospital services in the country commenced. This review,
which is ongoing, is being undertaken by the Hospital Services
Division of the Department of Health assisted by Comhairle na
n-Ospideal. It began with a series of discussions involving the
management authorities of all of the health boards and the
public voluntary hospitals in the country. Arising out of these
discussions a number of specific areas were identified for
further in depth study. Comhairle na n-Ospideal was requested
to undertake the examination of a number of specific areas of
hospital activity. One of them - dermatology services - is the
subject of this particular study. |
