Description:
To produce a plan for the Department of Health and Children on the appropriate development of Child and Adolescent Psychiatric services nationally. With a view to ensuring that any such plan should take into account the special circumstances that might obtain in specific areas, I commenced my task by contacting by questionnaire, those consultant Child Psychiatrists throughout the country who were experiencing the delivery of services at the "coal face". I subsequently met personally and individually with those consultants, and visited most of them in their own places of work. I also met with senior administrative personnel in five health boards. The Health Research Board were most helpful in providing statistics.
