Description: As usual the material of this report is in three different sections; for the country as a whole, for health boards and, finally, for individual hospitals. More detailed information than that presented here is available on request to the Health Research Board. A copy of the form used by hospitals for admissions and discharges and forwarded to us is reproduced overleaf. Coverage With the exception of the psychiatric unit in SI. Vincent's Hospital, Elm Park, Dublin, all psychiatric hospitals and units in Ireland reported to us in 1984 and the data, therefore, with this exception, represent total national coverage. Information on the activities of St. Teresa's psychiatric unit, in the General Hospital, Castlebar is included with the figures for St Mary's Hospital, Castlebar and data from the unit in the General Hospital, Letterkenny with the returns for St. Conal's, Letterkenny. Place of Residence The address from which each patient is admitted to hospital
