Description:	No funds have been allocated for the opening of new units of accommodation in this health board area in the current year, nor, indeed, were any such funds made available in the last financial year despite the fact that comprehensive submissions supported by estimates of costs both pay and non-pay, have been renewed to the Department of Health. In this latter regard, it is particularly significant that funding be made available for the opening of the new facilities at the Maternity Department at Gal way Regional Hospital which should be completed before the end of this financial year.
