- Description:
- As someone who has experienced the Irish Healthcare System, both as a practitioner and as a user, I am confident that the quality of our care in the Southern Health Board is second to none. My priority is to continue to ensure that our consumers are at the centre of everything the Southern Health Board does, so that they receive the best and most appropriate care possible. This report allows us in the Southern Health Board the opportunity to demonstrate how we have affected positive change over the course of the year. Such change would not be possible without the continued commitment and professionalism of staff, the loyalty of the Management Team and the support of my fellow Board Members. I would like to extend thanks to the Minister for Health and Children, the Secretary General and the Staff of the Department. Other groups, and most especially the voluntary sector, require special thanks for their continued role as our partner in the delivery of important services to the community. 1997 has been a positive year for the Board, as we continued to serve the people of Cork and Kerry as effectively as possible. Dr Catherine Molloy. Chairman
