Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), research centres, professional bodies, government

Making every contact count: a health and behaviour change framework and implementation for health professionals in the Irish health service

Title: Making every contact count: a health and behaviour change framework and implementation for health professionals in the Irish health service
Authors: O'Brien, Maria; Scott, Aileen
Description: The Making Every Contact Count framework supports the implementation of Healthy Ireland
throughout the Health Service. Implementation of this framework is a key strategic action
in reducing the burden of chronic disease. The delivery of the Making Every Contact Count
will require leadership at all levels throughout the organisation but clinical leadership will be
particularly important in changing the culture towards the disease prevention agenda. Making
Every Contact Count provides a unique opportunity for health professionals to support their
patients in changing their lifestyle behaviours.
I look forward to seeing the Making Every Contact Count framework come to life across our
Hospital Groups and Community Healthcare Organisations and to this framework having a
positive impact on the people for whom we provide care.

Promoting Staff Health: A Survey of the Health and Wellbeing Division

Title: Promoting Staff Health: A Survey of the Health and Wellbeing Division
Authors: Evans, David S.; Cullen, Louise; Molloy, Laura; Lynam, Adrienne; Goggin, Deidre
Abstract: n order to gain a measure of the health and wellbeing of staff in the Health and Wellbeing Division a survey was undertaken in late 2015 with results contained in this report. It highlights the areas that we are doing well in and identifies a number of areas where improvements are needed. The results and suggestions given provide a benchmark as to the current health and wellbeing status of those in our Division and pave the way for a set of recommendations which will be delivered through the action plan currently being developed. As a starting point and in recognition of the fact that many of our staff are based in other cross divisional worksites, the Staff Health and Wellbeing Funding Initiative 2016 was introduced.
